Christmas 2010

Mom, Jason, Breck and I wanted to go look at Christmas lights. It was really cold the night we decided to go. We decided to go see the Bentonville Square instead of Fayetteville. I just Breck would like seeing any amount of lights. It was lit up but not over the top like Fayetteville. We saw the ice skating rink which looked like fun but there were tons of people. Before seeing the lights we went to eat. Anyways, here are some pictures of us on the square.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Nana and Papas to spend Christmas with Gigi.

On Christmas Day we went to Nanny and Grandpa's.

13 Months

I am kind of behind on the blog...so here is Breck's update at 13 months.

* off the bottle completely...didn't have any problems what.so.ever! I waited until the zodiac sign was below the knees and it worked! Thanks to all of those who gave advice.
* still working around the wheat and dairy allergy. Apparently soy doesn't work either. So we are now on Rice milk. You are not having any problems so far. As for wheat, I had them give you some of the daycare snacks and you got back all of your allergy symptoms. Then when we took it all away you healed. So we're still looking for good things that you can eat that are wheat and dairy free.
* Found one meal so far that I can cook and you will eat it all and Jason and I liked it too. I always said that my kids would eat what I fixed and there would be making extra meals for the kids. Well, until you came along....you can't have most of the things we eat!
* Still can't get you to sleep over a couple of hours in your crib. I have tried about everything. The other night you went on for 2 1/2 hours and I gave in and brought you to our bed. I HATE to hear you cry!!!
* Walking everywhere!!!!
* When we ask you where your tongue is, you stick it out....when we ask you to point to our nose sometimes you will.
* has noticed that you get attention when you giggle out of the blue
* the other side of the top two molars are coming in and you can get pretty cranky! I can't wait til these teeth come in!

You are cracking us up everyday with new things that you are doing.

McFadden Baby #2

Can you believe it? God is good. He has a plan for us whether we're ready or not. We were kind of shocked to hear that we are having baby #2. I found out Thursday, 2 days before Christmas that I was definitely pregnant. That was a great Christmas present. Last time it took 2 years and a surgery and this time not long at all. We weren't trying but we weren't preventing either. Today on January 12th, I had my 7 week ultrasound. Here is a picture. Breck's going to be a BIG BROTHER! The chinese calendar says it's a girl.....

Thanksgiving

Last weekend at Nanny and Grandpa's
Last weekend we had Thanksgiving with Jason's parents while they were in town. It was delicious as always. Then today was another fabulous day of eating. Breck did his fair share of eating too. He had a whole Thanksgiving dinner and loved it just as much as he did the weekend before. Both times, he really enjoyed playing with all the kids that were around. He was a tad cranky today though. Below are some pictures of last weekend and today. We are so thankful to have such wonderful family!!!!

5 Great Grandbaby BOYS!!! We need a girl!!!

Walking

At 12 months, Breck has begun taking steps. He has only stood up by himself only twice, but has recently started letting go of things and taking off walking a few steps. Then he gets distracted and falls. It is too cute watching these different milestones. This one makes me the most nervous I think. He is so wobbly!!! Enjoy the video....

NO MORE FORMULA

So you have turned one and I just don't want to spend the money on the formula anymore. We have been on this expensive formula forever and you still spit up and you still have cramps......

So I have switched to regular SOY. You have done really well on it. You took to it just fine and you don't even spit up. We have still been putting rice cereal in it but I really don't think you need that anymore. We had cut back and you are still keeping everything down. So I may try to remove the rice cereal and see how you do. I feel rich!!! (not really but $20 on formula for about 3 days compared to $2.50 for SOY for about 3 days sounds so much cheaper!!!!) Hopefully we will see a difference in our money situation.

As for the bottle, that is a different story....I haven't even tried. You are cutting 4 teeth at once (2 molars and 2 bottom teeth), so I didn't feel this was the right time. Plus I have been talking to several people who go by the Farmer's Almanac on this weaning thing and they say the sign has to be at/below the knees.....So that is not until DEC. 21st!!! I guess that's when I'll do it!!

One Year Old!!!

Hey, can momma have some???

He may have this present thing down at Christmas.

Well today is the BIG day!!! Breck turned ONE YEAR OLD today. It seriously only seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital having this little guy. It has been a wonderful experience. There have been lots of struggles but so far we have gotten through them and I am sure we will continue to get through more struggles. I am pretty positive there are going to be lots more with every stage we go through. I am just happy to say that he seems to be feeling so much better. I think the kinks with a lot of his allergy problems have been worked out and the stomach cramps are so much better. He still doesn't sleep well at all or NAP for that matter, but that may or may not be a habit at this point. I can see it being a habit since his he has had these problems for over a year now and we finally have them addressed. OR there still may be something keeping him from sleeping. Who knows???? At this point we seem to be doing well and that is what I have been praying about for so long now. Here are some things that Breck is doing at One year old:

* loves to EAT!!! I wish he could eat what he wanted but is on a pretty strict diet of only vegetables and fruits and some snacks that are mostly wheat and dairy free.

* still drinking about 20 something ounces of formula in a bottle (soon to be no bottle, hopefully that goes well)

* starting to take a few steps....today he did about 3 controlled steps before leaning into me. He is just about to stand up. He is so cose and then I believe he may take off!!!

* has really been a socialite these last few weeks (he wants to go to just about anyone.....which kind of scares me that he doesn't know strangers!!!)

* much happier at this daycare....that makes my day go a lot smoother and I can actually concentrate on my job

* still napping for about 40 minutes at a time about 3 times a day....still sleeping in our bed and still waking up at different times throughout the night and just. can. not. fall. back. asleep!!!!! I don't get it at all!

* still has 6 teeth! 4 on top and 2 on bottom

* seriously think you are trying to say some words..these are some things that we have heard...dada, momma, gigi, nana, hot, shoe, stop, (for some reason he cracks up when I say stop and then tries to repeat it and then he laughs...he does it over and over again), bath (he crawls to the bath tub laughing the whole way when he hears the water...cutest thing ever), definitely knows what his ball and truck are when I say where's your ball he goes and gets it.

Too cute for words!!!! We love this kid so much and can't imagine life without him!!!! Happy Birthday to our Breckie Boo!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Uncle Dustin tried to make me ride that thing....

This weekend was fun! We met up with Gigi, Dustin, Kaylee, and Wylee and headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Gigi wanted to take the boys. It was a very warm day and there were a lot of people, but despite all that we had a great time and the boys were very well behaved.

11 Months

11 months already!!! This month almost made me cry. It is just so close to you being the big ONE year old. Here are some things you are doing:

  • Found out he has a dairy, wheat, pork and fish allergy. The doctor thinks this is why his stomach is cramping him so much and also why he is so gassy. By taking out all of these foods except for your formula, he seems to be pretty happy most of the time. But is still having some problems. We'll see if this is the main cause. I am taking very good notes to show the doctor.

  • We switched daycares. Hopefully, he won't be as stressed out at this one and I won't be either. Haha!!! He didn't seem to mind when I left today. However, he didn't take his naps at thier times. (He probably won't ever either, but I'll let them figure that one out).

  • Likes feeding yourself foods, but still on mostly baby food. Especially since we figured out these allergies.

  • Down to four 5 oz bottles a day and juice/water in a sippy cup in between. He has decided he loves his bottles (even though they cause him to spit up). I am afraid it might be kind of difficult to wean him off the bottle.

  • We decided to buy another crib for our bedroom since I was getting up every hour on the hour for so long. Now we are at least getting SOME sleep. You stay in your crib for as long as I will continue to put you back in it and then you come to bed with us. At least we're getting more sleep.

  • Cruising up a storm. Getting a little brave and if I don't watch him he will take off trying to walk as he does a face plant into the floor. He knows what to do but has NO BALANCE whatsoever.

  • Starting to dance while he is standing up holding on to a coffee table or something.

  • Now saying dada, momma, nana, and Gigi. Not on command but I am happy to finally hear some different sounds besides dada. At least we have something to work with now.

We hope he is finally going to start feeling better and sleeping better since we have figured out what is iritating his tummy. So far it's been a week and there really isn't real big change except for you seem to be happier during the day. (That could be because we changed daycares also!!). I can't believe you are almost one. I better get my act together and get this party planned. I want it to be so special!!!

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY

So a week ago, I take Breck in to the doctor once again. When I get fed up with his symptoms and feel like I just can't take it anymore, off to the doctor we go. This time he did have a rash. So I kind of used that as an excuse. Anyways, after 10 1/2 months he decided it was time to listen to me I guess. He finally took blood and a stool sample to check for an allergy or intolerance. Guess what???? It came back that he has a dairy, wheat, pork, and fish allergy/intolerance. I have been telling the doctor that something has to be wrong for 10 1/2 months. I am finally glad to know that I wasn't going crazy and Breck really has had tummy troubles. I am now praying that by taking all this out of his diet that we can become a happier, healthier baby. I feel so sorry for him that he has been hurting for so long. Now on to finding things he can eat beside fruits and vegetables. Those are easy. It's the snacks that are really hard to find with them being dairy and gluten/wheat free. Even after taking the yogurt out of his diet, he has been feeling a lot better. So maybe this will help and make him feel so much better.

First Trip to Park

I believe this is the first time that Jason and I have taken Breck to the park. He absolutely loved it. Right when we walked up to the slide, he let out the biggest squeal and a great big smile. He had no clue what it was. He just thought it looked big and pretty, I guess. It was bright yellow. Jason took him down some of the slides. Then he got to swing, which he loved. Then took a walk to look at the ducks. He liked them a lot too. He wanted to get down walk but he had no shoes and it was muddy. He loved every minute of being there and I can't wait to take him back.
