Doing a little Cruising

Breck is now doing a little cruising along the coffee table and couches. It is so cute to watch him do these new things. He has now gotten smart and instead of dropping the toy and sitting down to get it and then pulling back up again, he now hangs on with one hand and bends down ever so gently to pick it up and then stands back up. He will also go from the couch to an ottoman if it is really close. He's a brave one let me tell you. This stage makes me a nervous wreck....like all the other ones haven't??? It's amazing that all babies don't get head injuries with the amount of times he has fallen and bumped into things. We're on our way to having a walkin' boy (as Nanny would say).

It's Time To Go Back To Work

As you know, school has begun and I am now going back to work. Which means that Breck is going to daycare. We call it school. I was excited to go back to work. Breck seemed to be ok being left at school and really didn't seem like it was bothering him. However, 1 week down and that following week....ear infections. So we went to the doctor and got an antibiotic. Then 2 days later we begin experiencing the green ooze from the nose. It just isn't getting any better and I had to pick him up from school today. I frantically got some lesson plans together. I know that sub will probably never sub for me again after today. I learned a lesson today to probably have some sort of a sub folder that is already prepared and ready to go. Anyways, we go back to the doctor again this afternoon. I can already tell this is going to be a long year. I knew this would probably happen because he did get to stay home for the first nine months of his life and was probably a little sheltered. I hope my poor baby gets to feeling better. That is another thing I have learned about having kids, I don't like to see them in any kind of pain. It just breaks my heart.

Chicago

August 15th we went on Breck's first big trip to Chicago to see Nanny and Grandpa. We decided to fly since Breck hates being in the carseat for longer than 40 minutes which is as long as he will sleep. Flying took just about as long but at least he wasn't cooped up in a carseat throwing a fit the whole 12 hours. He did a great job on the airplane. He slept for a lot of the ride, ate mum mums, or played with toys. I was amazed because he doesn't like to sit still for very long especially because he just learned to crawl a couple of weeks before going on the trip. He had to show Nanny and Grandpa a new trick or two. We had a great time visiting with them. We miss them being 5 minutes away and being able to go over there when ever we want and drink a cup of coffee with them. Haha!! Breck was teething of course and cut 2 teeth that week. So of course being out of his element and teething, he was a little on the cranky side!!! Did I mention I hate teeth? We were so happy to get to spend the week with them and can't wait to see them again. Here are some pictures of what we did that week.

Jason and his dad went to a Cubs game!!

9 Months

This has been an exciting month. You are doing a lot and keeping Momma and Poppa on the move. Here's what you've been up to:

  • 21 lbs, 28 1/4 for height....all in the 50 percentile

  • crawling all over the place

  • pulling up on everything

  • loves to hold on to your fingers and walk all over the house; including up stairs

  • took your first airplane ride to Chicago and did an excellent job

  • has 4 teeth: 2 on bottom and 2 on top

  • eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner like a champ and also bottles - no more force feeding you. Still drinking 4 7oz bottles of formula

  • Feed yourself your snacks: yogurt melts, puffs, and mum mums

  • going to bed around 8 and sleeping til 6 (man I wish you would sleep in every once in a while) - only been sleeping better since I switched bottles and put you on colic calm these past 5 nights. I have tried about everything. Now you sleep on your stomach also. You have been sleeping in your crib til about 2 to 4 and then I usually just put you in bed with us.

  • saying da da: no clue what it means but you sure do like to say it. You scream all day long, but everytime you say da da you say it in the sweetest little voice. I love it!!!

  • loves to watch and try to kiss the puppies

I am sure there is a lot more that I have forgotten at this moment because you seem to be doing something new everytime I turn around. I love watching you grow!!!
